| G6 with Wraith interior clearance issue
I am working on installing a Wraith interior in my G6 but am running into some fitment issues. I currently have my tranny mirrored (motor still towards the front) and the Wraith interior's "center console" is contacting the spur gear. I know others have done this mod while retaining a forward facing motor, but as far as I can see I am down to these options: 1) Abandon the Wraith interior and make a scratch build interior tub (I've started this route with styrene but I'm not really digging the results) 2) Lift the body quite a bit (but I really don't want to mess with the body stance) 3) Chop the heck out of the Wraith interior (that could get ugly) 4) rebuild the tranny to stock specs (non-mirrored) and the rotate it to place the spur forward and the motor back. I'm pretty positive the way the interior is molded that the spur would clear that way. I'm really leaning towards #4, but I'm not sure how that will effect trailing/crawling performance and torque twist. Obviously I'd have to reverse the motor, but is anyone running their tranny backwards that can comment on performance? Also, is there something even more obvious that I'm missing with this? Thanks! |
