Default STRC short wheelbase chassis?

Is anyone running one of these? I haven't noticed any in the picture threads, and I haven't noticed any build threads in here either.

I already picked one up, but haven't had a chance to start my build yet...but I can't be the only person who thought it was awesome and bought one...right?

I was thinking about picking one up. Been waiting for a build to pop up on here so I could see some more detailed pictures.

Yessir. Pricey, but once dialed in it wheels great.

Direct off STRC's site when it was announced. Nice that they had them all in stock when the press release came out.

Being that the WB can be adjusted by link length, is a new chassis rail really necessary?

The goal of the chassis is to be able to use Tamiya bodies, and they are much shorter than Axials. You can cut down the stock Scx chassis, but I didn't like how it lines up. This one has a smaller center section and much tighter arches and fits the bodies overall much better. It's pretty tight even so with the Jeep body which has the shortest wheelbase of the Tamiyas. Much easier with the Bronco and FJ bodies.

Nice, I was curious about these chassis as well. I just stumbled upon them a few days ago while browsing through the STRC site.

I built one. Still working on the body mods but the chassis is done and running sweet.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who picked one of these up. I finally started working on mine...here are a few shots of how she sits at the moment.

I have a jeep body with about a 91/2" WB (Nikko TJ)
Those jeeps look pretty short, what are some of the wheel base dimesions?

Does it lower the trans at all or raise the shock tower mounting points?
I ask because I've had driveshaft binding problems going too short with the Axial chassis...

Not that I can tell. I did have to play with the caster up front to get the pinion angle a little happier w/ the stock WB shafts, but now that I've done that I have no binding, even at full droop.

The included links put you at a 10" wheelbase, but it wouldn't be difficult to shorten it a little more, though driveline angles might force you to lower it a little.
