Default Dingo - Shmingo! Finally Building a Hilux Truggy!

Did the Wrexo, Wraith, Scx10 Renegade....and I've really wanted a Truggy! So here it goes.....

Started with a "traded" SCX10 Dingo, was pretty clean. Ordered one of SMF-RC Work's #A063 truggy rear cage's - which came in today. Very Impressed with the build quality, for the price it is a real valve. Going to try the factory shocks, just cleaned and went with 20wt oil. Added JC Auto Design rear upper link risers (V2) to limit the anti squat characteristics.

Got the Tamiya Hilux body, went with a hand made rear cab closure, first attempt at styrene work, WAY simpler then I thought, also added a raised cowl to the hood. Then sent it to the body shop for filler and first primer application.

Going with the Castle Sidewinder SV3 waterproof version and tying a Speedpassion 25.5r brushless motor I have sitting around for now. Added shock tower brace's. So far its a start. Haven't decided on a color yet, and have the electronics, lighting, relocating the servo, interior and final assembly, but kinda liking it so far. Some additional body filler, primer and more wet sanding and we'll see how it turns out. After all, your never really done!

The rear cage is from SMF-RC Works - David and crew are awesome to work with. They have an assortment of rear cage designs to chose from.

First test drive, kinda liking the Speed Passion 25.5R motor, good low end torque, at least so far on my "test track". Not a ton of wheel speed but I didn't build this one for speed. Did fit a Wraith interior into the Hilux body, fit well, had to trim for battery clearance. Added grey upholstery a dash pad and a couple quickly fabbed bucket seats, way lighter then the Corbeau seats.
