Default Deadbolt spring question

I love my new deadbolt, but I think softer springs would be a big improvement. I've been searching "the old interweb" and these forums but I havent found replacement soft springs.

Everything seems to be geared toward the older two stage spring setup.

Has anyone put softer springs on there deadbolts stock shocks?
If so, where did you get them?

Thanks

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb noob question.

Or are most deadbolt owners happy with the stock spring setup?

I've only got two packs through mine so I couldn't say. Just strapping the battery behind the front shock tower made me happy

Battery moved
4 link front from spare parts
Removed bump stops
Trimmed rock sliders
Angled shocks toward center

If you lift up one wheel does the other wheel on same side lift up before the opposite shock bottoms out(compresses)?

Actually it never gets close to bottoming out.
That's what mine is doing.

I replaced my stock shocks with rear shocks from an Associated B4 RTR. There is a much wider range of springs available for those shocks then for Axial. I went with Associated green springs in the front and black springs in the rear which are much softer than the stock deadbolt springs. I think everything just articulates smoother and I haven't noticed any increase in torque twist, probably because the shocks actually hold oil and have damping action.

I guess I'll keep an eye out for them on eBay. I didn't want to spend much $.
Are they the same length as the scx10 stock shocks?

I think they are like 2-3mm longer than stock, so not a significant difference.

I paid $21 for a set of 4 unused shocks on ebay so they aren't too bad.

I'm guessing you bought the spring kit afterwards and tried the different colors until you were happy with the results?

They came with the black springs which are the softest ones, I already had the green springs from another truck which are one step firmer. The springs are only $2-3/pair if you don't like the softest springs all around.

No, mine stays stationary, do you have something binding? Mine is still box stock, other than moving the battery

Its been doing this since I bought it. Before making the changes. Springs seem too firm. Maybe there's to much oil in the shock??

All your oil has probably leaked out, the stock shocks don't hold it very well. The oil in my stock shocks lasted about 2 packs before it was all gone.

I got a set of 4 Integy C2509 shocks for my Deadbolt for only $25

They are 112mm long (too long) but come with a set of soft springs that are perfect for my built up deabolt's weight.

I took the shocks apart and added a spacer to limit the travel internally to 105mm.

Now the weight of the truck settles it down nearly halfway of it's travel.
Crazy flex...tons of dampening on 30W oil.

No leaks after a month of crawling.

Yep... One more pack later and I'm also a victim. Mine settles and stays... Also the servo screw hangs up behind a crossmember

They're on the Deadbolt optional parts page. They're also on the parts compatibility page. Axial must be wrong I guess. Oh well, I tried.

Jeez. Sorry.

I think I see the confusion. Axials site says its compatible with the ax10, not the scx10.

I have an scx10 deadbolt too and love it!! Got a few upgrades: alum steering, knuckles, chubs, rear four link, (just ordered the front four link) and run 2.2's from my brothers wraith. works great! i relocated the battery and it did great for the crawlability of the thing. Also moved my esc and power switch to the rear cross-member to counter balance a little bit. The screw on the front that hits the servo screw, just trim it up a little with a dremel, perfect clearance with no issues! Now, if only I knew how to post a pic on here! lol Good looking rigs guys. im switching to the Ballistics Fab 90mm or 100mm shocks havent decided yet. the stock ones just dont do it for me.
