| BackCountry
Thought it was about time I started a thread to look back on progress done on my journey to the back country. Plan is to build a rig that will take me threw the deepest bush, packing all that is needed for an off the grid journey. I picked up a Rubicon for the starter base, links needed to be beefed up so I picked up some vanquish link with CMS and pan bar. Also felt steering was not going to last so upped that to a HS5646WP after my first outing this past Sunday. |

Today I started mocking up my wheel wells. The goal here is to keep as much mud, snow and whatever else I come across out and or off the rig. The more that collects the worse gas milage I will get. As they sit right now they are touching the body and mounted only by the shock bolt. My idea is that they can move with the body in case of a roll over. I will test this before continuing. Thanks for looking... |

Had a chance to run a pack today on my test course. WW worked fine with no issues of binding. Still need to make the rear but wanting to wait till I get my new body and lipos I plan on running.

Well for my liking the Rubicon just wasn't right for what I'm after. Hit up some locals and found a old Chevy body that needed work but will some TLC would handle everything I could come across in the bush. First I needed to knockout the rear window for some future plans. The rear wheel wells where pretty much gone so I'm fabing some up. Lots to do yet but in the end she will handle it all. |

Hey I have a "old" clod grill if you are interested, the rare bowtie vs the modern 4x4x4. Also a tailgate.

It's been awhile but with summer coming to an end I'm finding time to get at it. Today I picked up a new front bumper from the lhs, rebuilt my shocks and did some work on the body. |

Wow looking good. Are you going to keep the rear fenders like that? If so I suggest cutting the small lip off the fender.

As of now I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with the rear fenders. I'm not a fan of them just being straight cut but also not sure what else to do as with making them it put the back panel so far back that it rubs. I could change my rear links but I like how the rear is right at the bumper for coming off inclines. I'll keep looking for ideas and just working on the front end.
