Default driveshaft retainer rings

I ordered a set of these before starting my build. Now that I am building my driveshafts, I see that a total of 4 rings are needed to do the shafts.

Since I only have 2, which locations should I choose? I would assume the axle side of both shafts...but I don't like to assume. So where would the 2 upgraded best be placed? Thanks.

I would put them axle side to. The area that is going to take any hits.

I'd put the alloy rings on the drive shaft end
located at each axle's pinion output. (lower)

The upper DS retainer rings @ the trans
would likely never see impact or rock grinding issues.
