panhard bar, or 4 link

i am fairly new to crawlng, i see some guys using a 4 link system for the front, and some with a panhard bar.

i have a g6 i built, with vanquish cvd, 8deg chubs and knuckles, i am contemplating ordering a vanquish link set, and wonder if i should change to a panhard bar..

thanks for the help...

Would say stay 4 link I you plan on keeping the servo on the axle. A lot of guys on here have the 3-link w/panhard (like myself) cause we are running a cms (chassis mounted servo). The panhard bar should be the same length as the z bar(servo to knuckle) to prevent bump steer. If you run a cms on a 4 link you might run into bump steer or binding during suspension travel. 4 link is a better suspension IMO because you don't get any axle swing side to side durin suspension travel. You see a lot of 1:1 crawlers with 3 links because they are running steering boxes on the frame or just for packaging reasons and 4 link on 1:1 is possible because of full hydro systems where there is no mechanical link from axle to chassis. Hope this helps...

Re: panhard bar, or 4 link

it does....i watched the video on vanquishes site...i think that the 3 link, panhard is the way i will go...unless someone changes my mind...

I agree, I personally like 3 link's. Having the cms looks much better IMO plus I'm building mine to replicate my 1:1 which is a 3 link. Another thing I noticed when I had a servo on axle with these trucks is that the servo would interfere with the frame during certain articulation. Also another l little tip I've found, my build is set up low, I have about 50-60% of the shock compressed at ride height and my particular cms mount goes along side of the frame rail vs. being mounted perpendicular between both of them and I'm finding it that I get interference with my panhard and servo, I have a bent panhard so it will fit up above the axle when compressed. So I'm gonna be switching the cms mount here eventually.

Re: panhard bar, or 4 link

^ purdy much already stated.

CMS = 3 link W/panhard ~ scale ~

* you can utilize a 4 link to begin with
and then simply remove the single opposing suspension link rod
when the CMS/Panhard are to be installed.

AMS = 4 link (8* C/K's help when clocking the font axle) ~ performance ~

I prefer my 4 link set up...
and tho' slightly less to scale

IMO the AMS and 4 link offer the most suspension movement.

My home built bumper makes my AMS less noticed.

an attempt at replicating my 1:1...
