hello everybody! the first section of my new build will be saying goodbye to my old rig OJ who went down the river never to be seen again around june 4 2014. then onwards with the new build. tho it wont be the same, some things will try to be the same. here im starting out rebuilding some axles I wasn't using with Tuner beef tubes. also have some new axial cvds. and shortly after doing the front and rear I went on to rebuild a extra transmission I had as well. tho its completely stock inside for now. running a 90t spur and 19t pinion with a 35t integy lathe I had as a backup. ill be replacing it with a novak rock star 35t or a hand wound tekin 35t eventually. but I had to buy some more important things first. here is a small build list of what to expect. axial cvds tuner tubes od and ud gears custom frame work, bumper, and sliders sw3 esc cc bec 10amp 35t motor rc4wd 6 lug white rims rc4wd offset hex hubs or rotors w/hex (whatever clears the vp stage 1 setup) rc4wd warn winch, wired. rc4wd arb snatch block x2 pit bull rock beast tires with ci 2 stage foams aluminum links hi clearance links front and rear lots of funky rod ends custom mounting and wiring Tamiya hi lux cab with rear window going for full interior im sure there is more going on but that is a good short list of what ive got already. only thing left to get is the vp kit, and its not a must have to get most things squared away. or started on at least. here is another pic of were I started this one at. ok got a little more time and heres some more pics of the progress. already ditched that front bumper that is on it here. for something more protective. and here is the bumper I went with in the end. then here im getting ready for paint. thanks guys, heres some more pics of it coming along. the color was a hard choice, but since neon orange didn't help me find my last one I thought about something a little less bright. |

been working away on it. got my links all squared away and started to mount stuff up. heres a teaser pic with some mock up wheels. loads more to follow real soon. got all my electronics squared away, and just about everything is coming together. sure its missing a few things here and there but its a cheap build. heres a interior shot, granted no driver or passanger yet, but along with the tinted windows you cant hardly see inside! I glued some clearish plastic on the back window as I had nothing else around to cover it with. probly for the best as my paint on details are not very good with my shaky hands. ok heres some pics of the body mounted. still no mirrors on it yet and ive yet to take pics of the lights on, but it does have them. also please forgive the stock glued mock up wheels. wrong color, rim, style, and wrong tires. im goin to go with white steel 6 lug rc4wd beadlocks with pitbull rock beast tires and ci 2 stage nova foams. hopefully it ties the rig together better. if not I may change color schemes up.

been a while but fear not ive got some progress to show. all I need now is to get the vp stage1 kit in blue and some inner fender liners ill have everything I want on this rig. tho after a lot of trail runs I think moving the winch to the rear with a more low profile front bumper is the way ill be headed soon. as for the color schemes ive settled on what it is now for the rig. white works just fine with the yellow and blue. new this time around is the weighted steel rc4wd beadlocks, rock beasts, ci foams 2 stage closed sell and soft outer, and axial high steer knucks, with a lot of fine tuning. |
