| Re: ~TSS~ SCXHR Chassis Build & Info: Performance Chassis Upgrade Build/Assembly Pics: This is the all new Version 2 of the SCXHR chassis. V2 features a lowered skid and shock tower brace holes added, along with a few other small tweaks. Ill be using a TSS SCX10 "Smooth Skid" for the build, but a stock skid assembly is 90% the same. grab your rails, skid and 8 screws. I like to install all 8 screws but not tighten them all the way down. Then once they are all in, tighten them the last couple turns starting with the 4 skid plate screws. next up add your mid braces Last edited by STANG KILLA SS; 07-26-2014 at 06:43 PM. |

now add your sliders. since the upper links are moved to the built in risers for better geometry, no need to bolt on your links with the sliders any more. next up, time for links. with the TSS Smooth Skid, back out your skid screws and install the lowers. with a stock skid, add your lowers to there normal spots below the rails. attach upper links to the new risers on the rails. shortening may be required. |

now onto mounting shocks, axles, and body mounts. first up take your old plastic shock hoops, and cut them like below. now theres two ways to go about mounting the shocks and body mounts. Method #1 mount your shocks to the rails with a spacer, and use the body mounts on the backside/ inside. or Method #2 use the body mounts as spacers and put a nut on the inside. and now you've got a slider more to come.... Will the body posts line up with existing holes in the body?

I really like it, Cory! Great idea! I realize this is probably getting greedy, but have you considered a longer wheelbase version for the 1/8th scale JK body? Would that be possible to special order? Just curious. |

Would it be possible to fit 60mm +/- long motor and not interfere with upper links?

a smaller spur gear could also do the trick. a standard 540 has about .4" of clearance | |

Hey Cory another option on the body mounting if guys don't want to cut down their shock towers is on the SCX10 body mount parts tree AX80031 (which is in every kit I think) are 6 individual body post mounts. They're easy & if inside the chassis are very close to the stock post width. They can tend to pivot though, it depends a bit on bumpers etc |

great tip! I think I have some of those. only disadvantage I see to those is possibly the body posts not being held vertical, ie can twist. I definatly like there simplicity. |

| Re: ~TSS~ SCXHR Chassis Build & Info: Performance Chassis Upgrade Yes they can twist, though depending on where they're located on the chassis you can drill another hole & stack a 2nd mount under the first (so the body post goes through 2 mounts), only have to do it for 1 post & that will stop them twisting.

Nice write up and instructions on the chassis. Here is the Cherokee I built, using this chassis. The additional uptravel is great and being steel, the chassis is a blank canvas for custom builds. Extra upper link adjustments are great too. Szczerba's #3744 Jeepspeed Cherokee ... |
