| Did gearing kill my ESC?
Ok, so I'll start with this: I'm running a 55 turn motor (non rebuildable type) Tamiya TEU-104BK esc 5000 mah LIPO 87/20 gear ratio So, riding around my garden, couple of rocks, couple of tree roots, and some sand... and all of a sudden ------> DEAD. Servo still worked, but no drive. Motor was warm, but not hot. ESC heat sinks was also warm, but not hot. So my question is... Did my gearing kill my ESC? It's the same gearing I ran with my 21.5 brushless setup for more than a year. Any ideas? |

Check the motor , pull the wires off a touch them o a battery. If you have a volt meter check for power at the motor.

| Re: Did gearing kill my ESC? The motor runs fine straight off the battery. When the ESC still worked, I tested the running current with my tong tester, and I was reading around 1.9 amps with the wheels off the ground and at full blast. Never tested it while running.
