Default Is my rig capable to compete in a g6

My g6 crawls great but I'm concerned about competing in a recon event and not having enough wheel speed. My current set up is a castle sv3 on 3 s a team brood hand wound 35t 20t pinion 87 spur under driven rear. Any thoughts and opinions would help thanks

Here's a good place to start:
- Mount up a KMS or warn winch (the KMS is obviously stronger but requires a under body mounting)
- with the winch you'll need a controller. I recommend a HeyOk 4a relay
What servo are you running?
- mounting the battery forward and on the frame helps lower the CG.
- gearing is kinda high, if the motors hot..drop it down to 87/16t.
Some pictures would really help...

So I have done some modifications beef tubes and axial high steer with aluminum chubs hitec 7954 all titanium links jun fac driveshafts team associated aluminum 4 inch shocks aluminum tranny gears castle bec I usually run my pro line swampers on vanquish pro comps weighted with two foams but I have been braking in my rc4wd boggers and I like them both. I just don't know if all of the competitive guys out on a trail run or a g6 comp if they are all running sensorsed brushless

i'd switch out the battery and the esc/rx for a more forward bias. other than that just make sure everything's tight, g6s are about endurance.

A 35T on a 3s seems to be a common set up...I see no reason why it wouldn't work..The stock 87T should work fine but a 20T even with a 27T and a 2s gets hot...Gear it down until you don't have a heat issue and that's a good gear to use..I would try an 18 tooth and work down from there..35T on a 3s is the same wheel speed you get with a 2s and a 27T motor so you should have plenty of wheel speed..Takes more than wheel speed to get up a hill however.

A bone stock rig can compete in an event if that's all you have.

Your set up should work just fine, motor, gearing, battery and ESC is pretty much same as my set up. I also have or do run 87/22 for a bit more wheel speed with no heat issues at all.

In my eyes the recon isn't about how well you do... It's an experience and should be treated as such. I saw a few stock rigs do just fine at the Recon G6 in Colorado! The upgrades you have should help though! Have fun!

Yes, move battery forward, electronics to the rear or on the sliders in a balanced manner. Other than that you are good to go for G6. A side shot of your truck would be good, you may be a little tall with 4" shocks depending on your spring and link setup.
