Like the title suggests I am in need of some advice on my motor. First I notice some sparks when going from full throttle to a quick stop. Just wondering if that's normal or if it will prematurely consume my brushes or comms, also how to advance the timing of the motor or if I should just leave it how it was shipped. The pros and cons of the scenario would help me too thanks

Yep hard stops/tight drag brakes and rapid forward to reversing and vice versa will cause a good bit of arcing. Typical to any brushed motor. It was most likely set to the best of need timing from EddieO. Brushed motors in scalers live a hard life. Maintenance is key to a longer life.
