i bought a new honcho for my son and the other day he dropped it on the ground and it slammed the tires into the body and what happed was the steering servo nut got caught in the frame and bumper support i was just wondering if anybody else had had this problem before the only thing i could think is to grind it out with my dremel tool any other ideas |

yea dremel that out and also you can dremel a bit of the bumper ends to make it push in farther then just drill the undrilled hole with the mark of were to drill. on my rigs I just remove that all together. but a dremel will do just fine.

I removed the stock plastic cross member and installed a single tube cross member Re-located to the holes forward of the factory cross member's mounting point. notching the plastic cross member should work for most (stock) But I also rotated my axle forward some (clocking) so with that done... I would have had to remove too much material from the stock plastic cross member... and that would have made it too weak IMO. I also had to purchase 8* alloy Chubs/knuckles to compensate for clocking the front axle. I don't utilize the forward battery mount... and mount my battery(s) to the sliders instead. so the stock plastic cross member is not needed in my case. My servo's upper mounting ears also made contact with the frame rails... eventually breaking off the upper ears of the servo. So in the future... I would take the dremel to those... and round them off so they might catch less on the frame rails. The broken upper servo ears on mine... do not cause issue for securing the servo to the axle. Now that my servo's upper ears are MIA... there's less to catch on the frame rails. Lol |
