Default Vanquish High steer knuckles

A question for those who run the Vanquish 8* high steer knuckles. I am running them with Vanquish OMF wheels with .600 wheel hubs. When running in the rough stuff apparently the inside wall of the tire hits the screws that hold the tie rod and draglink. I have cut down pitbull rockbeasts and also the new claws. Is there anything that can be done. I also run crawler innovation soft foams. I like the set up it gets great grip but cant afford to cut down tires every time it gets rough. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Frank

How about changing to another style tie rod? I have this one now and I have plenty of space between the screw and my pitbulls. On the other hand it also both left and right knuckles are more rigid, before the stock linkage setup has plenty of play on one side.

I am installing this tie below the knuckles, if you install above the knuckles it may hit the servo horn

The BFG's are a little narrower tire, that helps with clearance issues. I run RB's, they are pretty wide.

To the OP;

The only thing you can do is try to get that wheel spaced out some more or try to trim or grind the screw a little if you can, so the tire doesn't hit the screw and rip your sidewall.

This is something I learned a couple years ago, as VP didn't tell people there was potential clearance issues back then. It was kind of a can of worms for me. Bought the high clearance knuckles , c-hubs & steering. The tie rod screw was hitting the rim, couldn't even bolt the wheel on, had to space the out and then it barely fit. Then the steering tie rod was hitting the axle housing when cycled, kinda had to live with that.

I think Things have improved since then though. (I don't currently run any VP items)

This is just one reason why I run Axial high steer knuckles and chubs.

Post up a pic, .600's should have plenty of clearance.

I've seen .450's work, .600's have more than enough space.

Sorry for the late reply, I did some checking and sure enough the screw that holds the drag link and tie rod was the culprit. I had it ran from the bottom to the top with the nut on top. There was enough sticking through to catch the inner side wall. I swapped it around and no problems so far.
Thanks for the responses. I figured something was awry and just a matter of paying a little attention.
Thanks again
Frank

I have that same problem with my deadbolt with axial beadlocks and MT Claws. For a quick fix i put a few washers on before i mounted the tire. I was told that some stampede hexes are thicker so i am going to order some. Part number....TRA 3654
