It's been done and it looks OK. I like to have a stinger on my bumper but it's a personal preference.

In 1:1 it serves 2 purposes. 1 incase of a rollover it creates a line from the roll cage to the stinger so the hood/radiator doesn't get crushed. 2 it can prevent the rear from coming over the top on steep decent and landing on the roof.

Ahhhh I see, thanks for the info. Definately not something you really see over here. Still undecided as to whether to cut it off or not.

I thought you did a great job for your first video! I'm by no means a scale video expert, but my critique would be to avoid repetitive shots or vacant shots where there isn't much happening. Also, the intro shots were great in concept, but the camera was a tad shaky.

This is personal preference, but I like scale videos where the rig is coming toward the camera, rather than spending a lot of time on shots where the truck is moving away from it. Close-in shots are always preferred for scale videos, otherwise the truck looks too small amidst the 1:1 scenery.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for your feedback......ive filmed general bashing but never to try make it look scale.

The intro shot and the long hill climb and decent were hand held shots while the rest was pedomimantly on a mini tripod.

The hardest bit about it is getting the right camera angle and distance from target. close enough to look "scale" but far enough to capture the whole shot. If that makes any sense lol.

Is it better to film a single obstical close up using multiple shots and piece them together or film from slightly further away and capture it all in one shot but maybe losing some scale appearance?

Its all a learning experience hence I need all the feedback I can get.

I have never had issue mounting proline tires to axial beadlocks.

I have had issues mounting proline tires to internal beadlocks, aka Rc4wd steelies.

I think my stock motor is dying so im looking for an "upgrade", im not looking to spend a fortune as my truck sees ALOT of mud and water.

I use a 5000mah 2S for power and want to ideally keep the stock gearing (i dont mind changing the pinion as there cheap).

Ive found this which seems a reasonable price and motor: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/etronix-...products/37819
But I'm not sure how well it will perform on 2S with stock gearing and what sort of top speed it will produce. I only use my truck for trailing, bogging and crossing logs.forrest driving.

any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

A 50 t will be really slow, compared to your stock 27t. For tons of mud go with another stock motor, or a traxxas 20t for a bit more wheel speed.

etronix do a 27turn and a 21turn thats the same as the above and a similar price to axial, would the above be better than axials?
Is wheelspeed more important for mud or low down torque?

Cheers for the help so far.

Depends on the mud, from what I have seen from previous posts you want wheel speed and torque. A 27t on 2s is a good compromise. 35t on 3s is what I drive.

Generaly soft sandy puddles and gloopy wet mud.

How would a 37turn perform on a 2s, would it be really slow? Or is a 27turn or less my only option on my current battery?

Well my motor finaly died, still runs just no performance lol so i took abit of a gamble and purchased a hpi saturn 35 turn and a 27 turn along with a 9t pinion (mainly for the 27tturn).the 35turn on stock gearing seems ok from the littlle play i had in my garage so will be interesting to see how well it works on a trail walk.and to see what sort of wheel speed i get.

will also be interesting to see how long they last, both motors cost less than 1 axial 27turn!!!

Will post a little update after a few runs.

Ive also started a thread in the video section which can be found here......... Scx10 Deadbolt.

Re-covered my homemade waffle boards in corse red sandpaper and drilled more holes in them to reduce their weight, made some "bungies" and drilled a couple of holes in the shell to hold the bungies:
