Default Servo fire

So as I was doing a little crawling around the house with my deadbolt. probably the 3rd time I've used it since it was bought. I noticed smoke coming from under the body then it went into flames. The stock esc melted anybody have any ideas why this may have happend?

Also melted the servo a bit too so I'm just trying to figure out why it did this.

Where's most of the damage. Your post title says servo fire but you open up talking about the ESC. Look at the damage and try to evaluate where the fire really started. Then start looking for the cause. Any battery damage or signs of a short circuit, look for beading on all of the wires.

If was to guess you may have had a wire come loose or chaffed and it shorted out. I have not had this happen on my SCX10 but I have had something similar on my quad copter with the blade nicking the wire from the battery to the PCB.

Did a little more looking at it it looks like the ESC internally shorted. Called Axial and they said send it to them and all damaged parts will be replaced. Thanks for the input

Yeah I know I told them that the esc looked like it shorted. and they right away wanted it back so they could see it. They said they want to see if it's something that's a bad design because the esc is a new style there trying.
