I would go with this:

Wraith/AX10/SCX10 pinion bearing mod

Plus some beef tubes

I run t-Rex 60 in an scx based tuber. They look good and for light use they are bad ass, however I have broken knuckles and housings, as well as a number of shafts attempting things I should not have. Overall I am happy with them but I'm not sure I would buy another set of them.

Ok, having said that, would you be able to recommend them or not. I tend to drive a little more careful now days since I'm having to replace wore out parts from driving like a tool. How tough is the housing material?

Housings are tough, I would recommend them to a careful driver but would suggest aluminum knuckles and C-hub supports. Worst part about them is availability of replacement shafts.

I take it that they are not interchangeable with any other axles?

No, shafts are proprietary to these axles

Probably find a take off set on eBay for a few bucks. I beat the hell out of mine and they've lasted a long time. If I were to upgrade, it would be currie or go home
