Default Award build for my son

Just completed a build for my son. He'll get it if he can pull off straight A's this semester.

I've got everything mounted up front.

Right now, I have the Axial 27T motor on it. Transmission is stock. Any recommendations on a brushless motor? ESC is a Sidewinder 3.

TIA

If your still wanting to crawl when you go brushless, I'd get s diff Esc as well. Lot of members will argue that but from my experience a sensored brushless works way way better for speed and crawling. I'd recommend a Mamba Max Pro and a Tekin roc412. I've been through a bunch of motor and Esc combos and like this setup the best so far. Have mine in an 8lb plus trusty, and it was pullin wheelies out of the gate and still crawling great. I run my tuned down to 30% power and it still has tons of wheels speed. But this is just my opinion.

I've got the same tandem on my Wraith. He'll need to get straight A's for the whole year

So you think it's best to just stick with brushed on the Sidewinder 3?

If I kept it brushed, would the Titan 540 make a good replacement?

If you are wanting to stay with a brushed combo I would check out Holmes hobbies for a good brushed motor. You can shoot him a message and tell him what you are looking for and wanting to do and he will get you set up with a great motor.

I cannot comment on the Titan motor as I run a brushless set up. Good luck and I hope your son brings home those A's.
