What is the best light set up for my G6 Faulken? I want the 5 on the light bar, headlights and fogs.

I have the NVS and I'm not very happy with it. It does some kinda cool stuff with the headlights and taillights and whatnot but the controller is huge and you can't run it without having the esc and servo plugged into it. Obviously you need that input to get the bright/dim action but even if you plug all the lights into the aux ports just to be on all the time you still have to have the esc and servo plugged in or it just doesn't work. It makes wiring a big hassle and means you can't remove the body completely without unplugging a whole bunch of crap. I don't really have a good alternate suggestion but knowing what I know now I think I'll look for a different solution for future projects. I have the axial simple light controller on my Wraith which has been great but it only has two ports. It comes with a four string of whites which works for headlights and fogs and 2 reds for taillights. Maybe the new axial 3 port high output controller. That'll give you three ports including one that will handle the 8 light string so I'm sure it'll be plenty for the 5 lights on top. At 40 bucks with no LEDs included it's still pretty pricey though.

I just wired in 5mm LEDs with a resistor, powered off of the ESC BEC. External BEC powering the servo, so no worries there.

I run the Integy GT Power complete LED kit for the headlights and through the stock buckets for the roof lights on my G6. I also use the Axial simple LED controller for the bumper fog lights so that I can easily disconnect the body from the chassis with a single plug while leaving the fog lights in place. I have a similar setup in my Wraith. It's a nice setup that works well, and it's a lot less expensive than the night vision system. http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...9#.VBO04WK9KK0 |

Check out HeyOk's lighting controllers. They work great and not as near as expensive as the NVS. I wire up my own LED stings. HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place) How to wire LEDs |

I'm running 5mm LEDs from ebay with 470 ohm resistors wired directly to my 3c battery (via an on\off switch and jst connector). Last edited by dms1; 09-13-2014 at 01:01 AM. |

You can use this calculator to figure out the right resistor for any given LED. LED calculator for single LEDs |

I am using this kit. It works fine, and the price is right. The only thing I don't like is all of the led strings are singles, so there were a lot of wires to hide on my G6. It turned out well though, and so far I am completely satisfied for the money.

For on on going build, I just ordered and installed a light set from rc-lighthouse.com. They have a custom light set-up section on the website that allows one to pick the color of light and size to fit your need. So far only bench tested, pretty impressed. They also offer an option for different switches for hook-up. The price was good and shipping was pretty quick. Good luck in making a decision. |

I have the Wrangler G6 kit, so it has the same body/cage set up. I used a VP 5" light bar in place of the stock light buckets up top, and installed my own 5mm and 3mm led's in the front of the body. I think making your own is best.
