Default HELP want to run 3s but no BEC HELP

one little question maybe somebody could help me I got an scx10 with stock AE2 n 20t wraith motor with 87/14 on 2s n I love it enough of torque n wheel speed for me but im trying to see on maybe running a 3s but don't want to run a BEC I got two other esc that i can choose from a mamba pro n a sidewinder SV3 n want to run a different motor on 3s will I still need a BEC with this other systems

For sure if you want max power out of servo! If it is a high torque check voltage ratings usually 7.4v is needed...stick csn even be a lil stronger with BEC! I run one on every rig I got no matter what

On an esc rated for 3s you could likely get by without, depending on the servo you use. Or you might end up with brownouts while driving which isn't good. Only esc I consistently run on 3s without a BEC is the Holmes brxl. That's on light 1.9 rigs.

A CC BEC is reasonably inexpensive.

CC BEC is great if you need some other voltage than 5.0V or 6.0V.
For me 6.0V is okay, so I use Turnigy BECs that cost a fraction of the CC BEC and works just fine.

It takes a really high power servo to draw more than 5A while stuck and fighting to move.
During normal operation there's something wrong if the average consumption is more than 1A.
