Default Scx10 changeable

Hi im looking to purchase a scx10 and been looking at getting either the g6 kit ,honcho or dingo the question is when getting a new bodyshell is it just a case of changing the links to make chassis longer or shorter? Or is it more complex than that? I like the dingo kit but think the chassis is to short is it better to get longer wheelbase version eg g6 or honcho

All you do is change links. All chassis are the same.

You gotta decide what you want out of it, and what terrain you want to drive on. I have scx trucks in all different wheelbases and they are all fun. I gotta say, the dingo is very fun, just isn't suited to steep climbs. With sharp steering its unmatched in the agility and manuvering ability and can navigate some tight spaces. I leave the honcho for rock crawling and extreme stuff. And other trucks fall somewhere In between.

G6 or deadbolt!!! All will do the same thing if built properly!!! It really comes down to what look ya want...nothing wrong with a Dingo just older rig with IMO funky body!!! G6 & Deadbolt have 12" wheelbase but $50 differance with G6 being a licensed Jeep.

scx-10 wheel base variations: 11.4", 12.0, 12.3

besides wheel base distinction the SCX-10 chassis remains the same.

Some alternatively fitted bodies will require different body mounts.
But most kits and RTR's will come with those additional pieces.

Like other have stated the truck is all the same. The only vehicle that uses a odd body mount is the wrangler rubicon unlimited. Oh, if you do go to a longer WB make sure you lengthen your rear driveshafts accordingly.

I have the Jeep Rubicon kit with the 12.3" wheelbase, I also have the G6 and Deadbolt body. Just by using the included extra body mounts, I can mount the g6 and deadbolt bodies and they fit great on the longer wheelbase.

when switching bodes all you'll have to do is switch links under the chassis that is all that is needed / required.

some models have the same wheelbase and some don't.. you can also make links yourself with simple supplies. there is thread here on rccralwer explaining how to do so if you don't find it google will always be your best friend.

I would do the deadbolt , g6 jeep, or honcho with the 12.3 inch wheel base. They would climb better. Do the one you like the looks of.

Pretty sure the scx10 deadbolt WB is 12.3 inches.......not that many bodies available that I can find anyway specially if you dont want a jeep lol. My deadbolt is going well so far.

According to Axial's website, the deadbolt's wheelbase is 12" not 12.3"
