Drew's SCX10 F250 build thread.

So my previous thread with the initial build up from the box is located here...

Scx10 project. Need opinions - RCCrawler

This thread will mainly be for over the winter mods. New parts and some more videos as I get around to them. Suggestions are always welcome.

This was the last outing http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...422e66e144.jpg

I just ordered some new wheels and tires. What do you all think? I should have them in a week and a bit. I think they will look fairly good on the style of truck.
http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...36ed95a9ec.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...6737f8ca25.jpg

My biggest problem right now visually is figuring out what bumper to run. Please give me ideas!!!

Drew

I got some ebay wheels similar to those a while back for mine. Love the wheels but those centercaps and all the little screws holding them on are in a little baggy in the bottom of my box-o-sh!t somewhere. Go ahead and order some hub covers from somewhere.

I'll see what they're like when they get here. I kinda like the look from the pictures. We shall see.
What was the quality like of yours?

Nice looking rig mate. I'm really liking the looks of the RC4WD JK damage recovery bumper ATM. I'm think info grabbing one for my dodge 1500 build. They're big and blocky like the F-truck lol.

Kinda liking this Proline one.. But I don't want it to stick out. I'd rather it be almost integrated into the body looking

I'm. It sure exactly how that one mounts (as in how much further back it can go) but you could carefully trim around the body to match the bumper and set the bumper into the body.

Yeah. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. Was hoping more people would be interested in my build. Especially these new wheels I found.

Quality on mine are great. Screws are kind of soft. As long as you use the correct tools, you shouldnt run into any problems. Dont use threadlocker on them. Just check them from time to time.

Mirrors are here!!!!
Just coated them in black PlastiDip. But here is a teaser of what they will roughly look like after some final mods and install.

Essentially perfect scale size. Exact replica of a super duty mirror. I had to trim down the arms where they mount to the body to get the angles right. Finished product either tonight or tomorrow!

If you still looking for a front bumper, I will send you a pm. I run those tires you ordered and they look killer and preform so-so (for my terrain). They do well while clean and on rock, sand, loose gravel, but they easily pack with mud and don't clear very well. I have read alot people end up cutting some tread give more space between the lugs.http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/...ps11a9a82f.jpg

So here they are. Really happy with how they turned out. I attached them with epoxy for now. Might try a different method but they are holding strong.
Impressions?
PM me if you want some of the mirrors, I can set it up on Shapeways for you.
