G6 Shock oil What's the hot trick to keep the oil in these shocks? I will be headed to Reno for the G6 coming up, and I know that the high elevation will push it out. Are there any better seal set ups for these? |

Re: G6 Shock oil Have you used Green Slime on the o-rings? (probably a dumb question) My stock shocks leaked no matter what I did. I eventually threw in the oil soaked towel and bought some pro line scalers... |
Re: G6 Shock oil No, I haven't done anything as of yet. Did the slime help? I wonder if a Bladder would help. |
Re: G6 Shock oil using some of the Associated Green Slime on the o rings help with a better seal. I use it on all of my shocks to help prevent leaks. |
Re: G6 Shock oil I'm pretty OCD when it comes to shock assembly. The right amount of green slime, just a little teflon tape on the threads, taping over the threads on the shock shaft to prevent knicking an O-ring during assembly, precise bleeding. Well, it doesn't seem to matter much with the SCX series of shocks. They all leak so bad I've given up on rebuilding them and just consider topping of the oil to be regular maintenance. |
