Default Steering servo relocation question

Hey all. Just relocated my steering servo, as see here:

Now, how the heck do I connect the servo arm to the steering linkage so that it doesn't bind up on the chassis? Do I need to bend the short link, or make another? Please post pics of your set up. Thanks in advance.

Generally speaking, you want the panhard and steering link to be the same length and parallel to each other.

Swap your drag link to the same side as the panhard, also get rid of the y link and just run a single upper link.

Remove the driver's side upper link.

Swap the draglink so that it is going to the passenger side knuckle.

noob question alert. Why is chassis mount better than axle mount?

Chassis mounting the servo is for scale looks & performance.

Axle mount gives you the most efficient use of the servos power to move the wheels.

The lvl 3 set is also very prone to binding. I tried it, didn't like it at all. It did work a little better with a homemade panhard bar with revo rod ends and 8/32 all thread.

I like CMS setups generally, but that particular setup looks off. First, I much prefer when the servo is mounted vertically instead of horizontally to minimize binding. Second, it looks like your drag link setup is off. As is, it looks like your servo would run out of travel quickly when turning to the right due to the angle of the servo horn, thus limiting your steering to the right side. Either the link should be attached to the opposite knuckle, or you need a much shorter link so that your horn is vertical when the wheels are pointed straight ahead. If you can't get it sorted with this kit, the RC4WD CMS kit is very good. Good luck!

I switched the drag link, works much better now. I need to put power to it and center the servo, see if I have any travel issues but it appears that it should fit up nicely. Thanks for everyones help, I'm learning as I go. Seems I forgot everything I learned on my AX10.
