| Hi Just have a few questions about my G6, I'm only new!
Hi guys Just got myself a G6 Falken Edition..JUST a few questions) Why does it use a C section chassis and not a box section? Also why does it have/use a 4 link set up suspension? And what's the reason behind shock hoops? Thanks guys! |

At that scale a c section frame would be a lot cheaper and easier to produce than a box section and almost as strong. Plus the c section allows for much better attachment of the plastic parts because they can fit in the c channel and use that for stabilization. What are you wondering with the 4 link? Why 4 and not 3? The 4-link is more stable and therefore better performing. Some of the SCX10 models do use a 3 link (I assume for scale appearance) but people often convert them to 4 or to a panhard and chassis mounted servo setup. Again, I'm not sure what you're asking about the shock hoops. Shock hoops as opposed to what?

Shock hoops that bring the upper mounting point of the shock above the frame keep the axle's travel as close to the frame as possible. If mounted on the frame, the truck would ride way to high and tip over a lot. As for a shock tower system instead of shock hoop system. The tower takes up more space and would hinder the body mounting with clearance issues. Hope that helps. |

Thanks guys that helps a bit! Also it says ratios can be changed from a 15:1 to a 74: crawl ratio.. But the instruction manual doesn't explain how The above pic is the real JK chassis..by making the shock location towers the same for Axial the truck would be too tipy? would the Scale model ride to low if Axial copied the factory shock towers? As you can see the Axial G6 chassis has very tall shock towers/hoops.. Does that also increase wheel travel? |

I think maybe you've misunderstood the "scale" aspect of rc. Usually only if visual, is a chassis made to look "scale". Hobby grade rc stuff won't function well if the chassis was made as scale as a static model.

If the upper shock mount was on the frame, then to keep a decent ride height the shock would be incredibly short and offer no travel. Those gear ratios are gonna be combinations of ring/pinion set in the axles, as well as pinion/spur combos at the trans
