They're getting hard to find as well. They're no longer on the Carisma website.

Thanks. Mine's now on a shortened TRX4 chassis.

Added magnets again to hold the front of the body. This time I soldered the wires for the lights to the magnets and mounted a switch inside the fender. No more wires attaching the body to the chassis. Now I need to add more e6000 to the magnets to make sure they stay in place.

Now I gotta figure out how to make some bumpers for it.
nice job on the lights, are those rears special? Did they come with the light bezel?

Yup, those lights came with the body. The bulbs are simply 5mm LEDs.

Got new links. Officially 313mm with matching links. A bit heavier as well. No more dog's breakfast of Axial and Traxxas links.

And here's the project for the winter. New body. It's a fibreglass bug body. Wheel wells are a bit longer so can properly fit some bigger wheels if I want.

Working on 3D printing a bit more detailed motor for this space. Might work, might not. My skills aren't great at 3D design.

Think I'll put these Gmade SR02 wheels on it. Haven't decided on paint colour yet.

Cheers eh,

Todd

Will you keep both Bugs? SCX10 and TRX4?

Yes, most likely. The SCX10 chassis is in pieces at the moment. I stole links from it to put on the TRX4 but can now put them back. I want to update the axles to SCX10 II or similar though.

I'll post where I got the body from this evening when I get home from work. Don't have access to the links here.

Here's where I got the body from. It's an outfit in the Philippines. He does great work and is super easy to work with.

Got a bit more done on the Bug this week. Finally have 4 wheels. I'm mounting the Pitbull Braven Ironsides on them using Crawler Innovations lil' Nova foams.

Also doing a bit of bodywork. Got rid of the seam in front of the doors. Still have to decide on a paint colour though. Probably going to do something flat again just not sure what. Need to do the windows and windshield too. I'm working on 3D printing a motor for that big hole in the back end. Going to 3D print a cage for that motor as well.

Speaking of 3D printing I drew up a really simple front bumper in SketchUp and had it 3D printed at Shapeways. Turned out pretty good for my first try at designing anything. Here's a couple of pics.

Here it is mounted.

Cheers eh,

Todd

Surgery has begun to turn this into a single speed with locked diffs. I find that I rarely use the 2 speed and crawl with both diffs locked most of the time. Now that Traxxas is making the parts available I'm going to switch over. Good thing is, if I don't like it I can switch back. It'll also make more room for an interior.

Cheers eh,

Todd

Which lil nova foams are you using? I have those tires and am trying to find the right foams for them. I tried the 4.0" lil novas with medium outers and way too soft even on my 6.5 lb ascender. You go with the 4.25" ones? Thanks.
