Good job on the decal. Thanks for the link, too. I’ve got some lexan laying around that I could do that with. Now to figure out what to do.

Very cool decal! Is there a machine for that? Thanks

Thanks guys. All I used was Testors decal paper and an ink jet printer.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to recreate the fender flares on this 1 to 1 on my 1/8.66 scale Bug?

Tidied up the electronics by moving the ESC and receiver to the front of the chassis. Also picked up these magnets from Asia Tees that have electrical connectors. Now to rewire the lights. Won't have to worry about wires between the body and chassis anymore.

Try using a 1:1 windshield wiper blade, there's a groove in the side of the rubber that should fit snugly on the lip of the fender.

That's a great idea. I'll take a look. Thanks Mike!

Haven’t tried it yet. Still wearing out the wipers.

Other than painting the front signals and replacing the winch, I haven't done much to the old Bug. Was really happy with how it did in a local comp here last weekend. Here are some pics from today, just messing around at the Blackfoot RC Park here in Calgary again.

Playing around with a new bumper. Wanted one with a fairlead as I have a winch mounted way back in the chassis. What do y'all think? Need to hook up the lights again next.

Kinda looks like Jamie Wiseman's Overland Bug.

Cheer eh,

Todd

I've decided to black out the chrome and upgrade the headlights from single 5mm LED bulbs. Here's the first attempt. The light is an RC4WD 1/10 Baja Designs Squadron Pro LED light. Should be a lot brighter on 3S.

Those lights are very bright on 3s, I ironically had them on my Dingo back in the day, ha!
Maybe cut off the tall brushguard part of that new bumper? Seems tall to my eye.

If you don't mind me asking, what brand/model is your new bumper?

Sure! It’s the Gmade GS01 Front Tube Bumper with Skid Plate Black. Got it from RPP Hobby online.

Yeah I’ve heard these are real bright on 3s. Also heard of some guys running them off a nine volt. I’ll give it a whirl and see.

Not sure about the bumper yet. Its not perfect but I’m going to run it a while and see what if I like it.

Got out the black paint today and did the door handles and headlight surrounds. I like the look. Still need to do the tail lights and then rewire all of the lights. Gotta find the other mirror I cut and finish those off too. Not happy with the turn signals on the front fenders. I have some orange acrylic and will see what I can do with it. I'd like to light them up again like on the lexan body.

Default Sound Test

Here's a test of the sound module in the Bug.
