Vanquish Links

Will the 12.3 link kit ( VSP06970 ) fit/work on the SCX10 DEADBOLT without doing any mods ... the SCX10 DB has the 12 inch WB , is the .3 added length a problem any help or suggestions are appreciated

With most kits that change the wheelbase your tires will no longer be centered under the fenders of your current body and you may have to relocate the upper shock mount (front, rear or both) but that's about all. Not sure if there's anything special or more complicated with the Vanquish kit or not.

Why not use the 12" wheelbase Vanquish kit? Vanquish #VPS06975.

Re: Vanquish Links

It will work fine. I had that kit on my G6 and tested it with the Deadbolt body and you can barely tell the difference. No issues with tire/body contact or anything.
I would say, think about the type of body you may want to replace the deadbolt with at some point and buy the links that match that body. That way you don't have to buy new links. Since the deadbolt will work for either 12 or 12.3 but other bodies are very specific its better to buy the kit for your future body.

If you're going to spend big money on ti links, consider getting the shorter links. Then if you want to change up to a longer wheel base in the future, all you have to do is buy the traxxas jato rod ends. They're longer than the revo ends. Just trim them to get the length you want. Or mix and match, revo on one end of the rod, jato on the other. I don't know exactly how much longer the jato ends are but you could stretch out from 12" to probably almost 13" by adding just the jato ends I would imagine. Just a thought. I'm sticking close to 12" myself.

Re: Vanquish Links

I like the DB body it stays , I'm not opposed to the 12in. kit actually I'd like to keep the WB as is but from the picture of the VPS06975 link kit it looks like theirs not a Y link with it for the front , appears to be a four link but the 4link brace doesn't come with it ? , or am I missing something

thanks

The front 4-link mount may be in with the spare parts if your Deadbolt included the spares. If not, the 4-link mount is available on Axial parts tree AX80043 or as an aftermarket component. Although I can't find that specific part included with the 12.3" kit on their site.

Not sure why they don't include the 4-lnk mount in the 12" kits.

Re: Vanquish Links

My 12.3 inch kit included the front 4 link mount. But ALL the parts to convert the deadbolt to a 4 link front WERE included in the spare parts bag that came with the deadbolt (other than fasteners... you just need 2 small screws and many will work), its all there.

I just finished putting the 12.3 inch kit on my deadbolt, ill post a picture shortly so you guys can see what it looks like. I also used the Vanquish CMS and panhard mount and had to build my own panhard link. Im not %100 happy with how it works. But it does work.
