Sharlie's Hilux

I am building this one for my wife.
Chassis, axles, and body will be mostly stock.
Wraith interior,
Keeping her fairly slow with a 35t motor on 2s, and a cheapy ESC.
A mishmash of aluminum links, 4link front and rear.
2.2 Mudslingers mounted on some Rpm rims.

Mockup.

Looks like a fun build. It's pretty cool that your wife is into the crawlers.

Thanks yeah its pretty cool.

I mounted the body today, next is electronics and paint.
The front is sitting a little high because there is no battery.

Its always a win-win when the significant other gets into RC. I told my wife it would be an excuse to get out to the woods more often so she was all about it. She gets to go hiking and I got another truck to build, everyone wins. "thumbsup"

That sounds very similar to my situation as well, I love it!
I plopped some electronics in it, some Falcon Wild peaks and took her for a spin today. About perfect IMO, suspension is nice and plush, speed is a quick walk on a 2s lipo, stock gearing.

I lost a couple screws, blue loctite is a definite plus.

Re: Sharlie's Hilux

Spent the last two evening's priming and sanding, priming and sanding, nothing really to see.

Re: Sharlie's Hilux

And all the hard work results in a nice paint job.http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/...psswfslbfe.jpg

Not sure exactly what I am going to do with the bed, I will probably drop it,but that will require different shocks.... We will see.
Next some simple sliders and bumpers, Wraith interior, and inner fender liners

Re: Sharlie's Hilux

Carnage report...
Some minor rock rash and some broken plastic.
The wife dropped off a rock ledge and I noticed the left rear drooping out way to far.
Inspection revealed a broken shock mount and shock cap.

Goal behind this build is to upgrade what breaks as it breaks, while a complete newb drives it. Only mods to the stock chassis is aluminum links and front battery mount(behind the shock towers)

Very nice build, love the Yotas, you've kept it in proper budget and your wife crawls with you too! :) Thanks for trail pics too.

Thank you, I have an awesome wife... This truck represents the wife's 1:1 dream truck...

So she has been complaining about the lack of vertical climbing, and lack of steering compared to my F650. To remedy this I put under drive gear set in the rear axle... Should help with both complaints.

Found an original green aluminum locker in the axle, lol, its been around the block!

It is great... Wife picked the color, and she does most of the photo work.

We Got out again today, 3hr crawl fest. Sharlie loaned her hilux to her brother and she drove her Twin Hammers...
