Default Scx10 Ultimate trail truck build w/ portal axles

So I decided for once instead of building a truck around a body I like that I would build a truck straight up to perform. I wanted to have all the strengths of a wraith with none of the weak points. I took my "tow rig" build and tore it down and rebuilt it with gmade R1 portal axles and stretched the wheelbase to 14" using my mystery box bent link kit.

The main goal is to have a truck that has maximum clearance but low center of gravity. To do that I mounted all the electronics on the front axle as low as possible. Also got rid of any weight on the chassis and set up everything as light as possible. I set the shocks to lift the truck so that it has a a ton of belly clearance but also where it had just the right amount of flex.

How does it perform?

Gotta say I was super impressed with its performance so much infact that it went about 10 places no other truck has been able to make. Lots of built wraiths tons of scx10's etc including some of my best built rigs. It even walked up a straight up waterfall climb, got some videos to post

Build:

Scx10 chassis
Rc4wd Krawler links
Gmade R1 axles
Stampede driveshafts
Vxl esc/motor
Savox waterproof servo
Robinson racing steel gears
EMaxx shocks
Pro-line F650 body
Mir eng bead locks/hotbodies tires

Thanks! The R1 axle itself is not as low as I would of thought at 2.14:1 but I am running a 87t spur and 12t pinion. Planning to swap to a 10t pinion and 93t spur to help out. For now it has just enough control to do the crazy stuff its done already but lower gearing will help for sure. The sensor less VXL can be twitchy but ive got used to it over the years in crawlers so its not bad at all.

I really wanted more wheel speed for this build but it can still be controlled well enough at low speed to get the job done

I really like this truck. I built one similar, but a bit more "scale".

Yeah I do need to trim them down. I just need to run my clod tires again so I can see just how far I can trim them. Those body posts are still bugging me but man I love running the clod tires on it tho lol
