Tekin 35t gearing?

Hi everyone, I'm going to be putting a Tekin 35t in my G6 and would like to know a good gearing with a 87 t spur....any suggestions?

I would start at a 16T pinion

I have run 87/17 and 87/9 with my 35T

The 87/9 was very slow IMO...
but I was pulling an off road trailer
so wheel speed was not wanted.

I think a 87/16 or 17 offers better wheel speed... if wanted
with plenty of low speed torque/control for smooth crawling.

I'm running 1.9" 4.30 tires

with Taller tires one might find a 14t or 15t serves better.

I also run a 27T and a 55T motor alternatively.

I have all the 48p pinion gears from 9t to 20t.
and having that spread offers me more choices.

Best thing to do is run the tallest gear that works for your
particular needs...
and then check the motor during that for excessive heat.
It the motor is too warm to touch...
Then gear lower.

Just keep in mind that any drag/friction within the drive train
could also reduce performance and run time.
So don't over tighten that pinion to spur gear mesh.

87/16 or 17 is a good starting point

Check your temps after 5 min or so and see if it's getting hot. If you can't keep your finger on the can for at least 5 seconds it's too hot. If you have a temp gun, don't let it get above 130 or so.
