| Battery Relocation Problem.... has anyone attempted this before?
Hey guys- sorry about my rampant posting lately- my Jeep has been giving me some problems Anyway- my latest problem occurred after I attempted to relocate my battery. After ordering all of the necessary screws, I followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJzPVwBu3rU Yet- despite being the same model (CR Edition SCX10) and having my body posts in the same position- I can't seem to fit my shell back on the Jeep. Is there anything I should check? Has this happened to anyone before? Here are some reference images.... The front grille is being pushed outward due to the battery tray.... Some more pics... If anyone could provide some insight I would really appreciate it! Last edited by Ghost Koi; 06-18-2015 at 02:57 PM. |

Have you tried to flip the tray 180? It may be shorter that way.

if you look at the picture that post (AX80027) in the front isn't there. I'm thinking that's all that it is.

I ended up flipping the battery tray and cutting down the ends of the "cage"... Unfortunately having the battery in the front caused my tires to split from the wheels while driving at top speeds. I removed it all and will probably end up buying a new battery tray soon. Not a great mod idea for me- Thanks for the help though! | |

Glad you got the tray issue sorted. Regarding the tires peeling off the rims, this is the perfect justification to buy beadlocks. Go! |

I made a sheet metal bracket and had it secured to the frame with plastic servo mounts. It worked well. I got a knight customs 3d printed one, because you know, its 3d printed. It works extremely well, survived my frame wreck crash, even with a 5000mah 3s strapped to it.

Hey i just went through the same thing and followed that dudes video. He uses that small insert when you should use 3 of the identical posts to level the tray. The solution is to just lift the body with the body lift posts to accommodate the battery. If you don't like the look, time for some 2.2's.. |
