Default Garrys SCX10 Yota

Hey guys just wanting to start a build thread on my scx10. It started life as a G6 but i liked the looks of the tf2 and the capability of the scx10 so i swapped my old Mojave body onto her. Gonna post as i make changes and and get your guys input.

The wheelbase on the g6 Rubicon and the deadbolt is 12 inches which worked ok with the yota body. It really needed shortened maybe a 1/4 inch or so which I may do later on but for now it doesn't bug me enough to change it. The TF2 is a really scale looking rig but it's hard to keep up with the scx10 without bunches of money

Gonna do sort of a beater look so i figured I'd paint the hood black to help hide the body pins.

I used scuff pads and roughed up the plastic then hit it with primer then used some quality spray paint from walmart. So far she's sticking great! I scuffed the hood up before I painted it black today and the paint that's on there is stuck on there real good. Several scale crashes and flips and not peeling anywhere!

If you haven't already put holes in the body, then why not buy the SCX10 Yota mounting kit on eBay, it's only a few bucks and would save you having horrible body posts sticking out lol.
Just an idea man

Sorry it was late in the UK when I posted that so I couldn't be bothered to search for it lol!
Here you go fellas!

body shell mount kit for scx10 to use tf2 body shell | eBay

I also already noticed you did already put holes in the body to mount it... Again, it was late, I was tired lol, I guess some filler could easily sort those out, and even leave it fillered and primered if you're going for a real beater look!
Just some ideas anyway bud, looking forward to seeing the build progress!

Haha thanks for the tip...i got impatient and figured heck it's just a toy and i plan on using it and beating it. If i build a shelf queen it Def won't have holes in the body! I did paint the hood black to help hide the pins!!...I'll check out that mounting kit though!

Linking it up will give you lots of flex from that tf2! Had a tf2 linked up and it flexed like crazy

With a special light controller you can have brake lights turn signals and reverse lights...not real familiar with it but I've seen it done

I highly recommend a Tekin Roc 412 like I have i run mine on 3s and it barely gets warm with non stop crawling. SUPER powerful and smooth. I got the 2300kv and on 3s it has plenty enough wheel speed and yet slow crawling control.
