| Upgrade Recommendations I've had this kit for a few months now and I think it's time for some performance upgrades and upgrades to make it more durable. Nothing crazy or too expensive. Things like steering, suspension, gears, tire/wheels, and better waterproofing. This is new to me and I need some recommendations on what to get and what brands. Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk |

the most important durability upgrades are... metal susp. and steering link rods. and metal gears for the transmission. The stock WB8 drive shafts hold up fine... If ya put a solid plastic dowel inside the male end. That will reduce the dreaded spline twist. I used a scrap 6mm dowel taken from one of the parts trees. had to clean up the nubs with a dremel.. but it slid right in and I just cut off the excess flush. Don't use wood or any other moisture absorbing dowel... it will swell the drive shaft(s)... causing bind. And it's a necessity those slide freely... or the suspension will not compress as it needs to. I learned that the hard way Another option for the WB8 drive shafts... is to upgrade to the WB8 design utilized on the DeadBolt. Of course some will say to upgrade to metal drive shafts... but I run 3s LiPo utilizing my stock WB8's and haven't had issue for well over 2 years use. ^ but then... I don't drive it like I stole it neither. Did you look thru the "Tips and Tricks" sticky at the top of this folder ? Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-13-2015 at 11:36 AM. |

metal links. and steering links. then foams and tires + wheels / will give you the most noticeable performance IMO |

| Re: Upgrade Recommendations For your information I did use the search button. I am looking for specific brands and part numbers for my situation and goals for the build. I'm not mechanically inclined so I will be having someone swap these parts, not all at once but in stages. Making a list of parts and planning stages for these parts to be installed is what I am trying to do.

So you used the search function and couldn't use Google to reference your own specific parts and part #s? For instance, if you want a vanquish link kit, go to their website and find it. Or rpp or your local hobby store. Also, as a note, you will want to learn how to use 3 hex drivers and a cross wrench, as that's pretty much all you need to disassemble and reassemble the whole truck, otherwise you better have some amazing friends, as it will get expensive to you, or annoying to your friends.

but why aluminum drive shafts ? or is that a typo ? Heck the original WB8's will fare better then aluminum would. toss those out in favor of some hardened steel DS's Or just stick with the WB8's fill the male end with a plastic 6mm dowel and it won't twist too easily Mine hasn't twisted running 3s with the 27T - 35T motors I use. The other WB8 option for more beef is to utilize the WB8 shafts utilized on the Deadbolt chassis. | |

If it drove good I'd leave it alone as far as functionality. I'd put some bumpers, wheels, roof rack, driver, winch and so on.
