My first SCX10 build happens to be a Burly Mud Truck

Hello all, I have had a few Wraith based rigs but never a scx10. I thought I would order me up a Deadbolt after seeing Harley,s Burly Mud Truck intro.
Here is what I have so far. I wanted to use the Axial Vanguard motor from my rtr Yeti 1/10th and the esc.
I am having a issue with the motor can hitting the upper front link. See pics::

Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem with 550 size motors on the SCX10?
I am planning on getting Honcho length links. Not sure if that will help?
Any ideas?
I could switch to a shorter can but I have this one available at no cost to me.

Re: My first SCX10 build happens to be a Burly Mud Truck

My first used SCX10, I bought had a Traxxas Titan 12 turn brushed motor, which is a 550 size with the stock plastic tranny and the Axial 6mm aluminum links and I no problems with the links hitting, maybe your motor is longer since its brushless, you would think have more room/clearance since the Burly Mud Truck Brackets raise the frame, maybe a 550 is too big, do you have a brushed and brushless 540's motors, too see if they hit

there is the Burly Mud Truck give away, It has a 540 size motor in the red Chevy showing brackets and how there installed, it looks like they got a stock Axial 27 turn brushed motor in it, in the pictures,

so I tried both 540's brushed and brushless motors and see if they hit

Go to a 4link set up and it will not hit..

The 12 turn Titan 550 is 57.5mm long, the Axial motor above is 63.5mm long and most 540 motors are 53mm or shorter. The SCX10 was designed to accept the typical 540, the 4-link will give you a little more room, but still may not be enough to get 100% of your up-travel.

On the CMS kit for the Wraith, you remove one of the upper links to make it 3 link. Does it work the same way on SCX10 trucks?
If so then I think I should be able to convert to 3 link and just remove the drivers side upper link completely? Sound right?
