Since this was my first scx truck, bought it the first year it was released, I only feel that its the first on the chopping block.
This was a kit truck and sports the original aluminum 3 link front and rear.
The add ons were an:
RC4WD 35T motor
Novak Rooster esc
7 cell 5000mah dedicated battery relocated
Traxxas 2075 servo and Radio
RC4WD 1.9 Mud Bashers on Axial beadlocks with derlin rings
RC4WD knuckles
Hot Racing chubs
100mm cheapo aluminum shocks
Custom steel bumpers
Custom F100 body
20t pinion/87t spur
Heres the build thread:
Rusty Ford F100 SCX10

The Deadbolt RTR is the newest, just got it 2 days ago. I thought I wanted a rtr model so I could drop batteries and go. Well not even a full battery in, the front steering arm is weakened to a point it bends under very little pressure and one of the rear lower links is so weak that if I gun it on gritted concrete, the tire rubs the rock slider.
So I guess new metal links are on order soon!

Well since I have several wheel/tire set laying around, I leaning toward changing the stock Treps for something else.
The first pics shows height difference.
The first set is the Imex J-hawgs on a set of 2.2 CAD beadlocks. 120mm tall
The 2nd set are the RC4Wd Dick Cepek 1.9 Mud Country's on weighted Axial 1.9 wheels. 100mm tall.
The 3rd are the Axial 1.9 Ripsaws on RPM 2.2 narrow crawler wide-offset wheels. 109mm tall.
For reference, the Treps are 117mm tall.

Got around to moving the electrics/battery. I have used this setup on a couple rigs and it seems to work well. Pics should be self explanatory....

I searched through my stash of links after getting fed up with the rear lowers buckling under every condition and what do you know, I found links for the rear lowers and steering!

So I went out today for the Deadbolt's first true run with its upgrades. Performed great! Well.... until I got cocky and started jumping it off a 3 ft ledge!
My dilemma.... well since I'm confined to my wheelchair, I didn't want to make the 20 minute round trip to travel around the shop builds to turn it over
So off Rusty goes to rescue!

So on to the next introduction of my yet to be completed H1 Tow Rig. Seems this thing gets worked on very little and sat in the corner a lot
It sports an RC4WD chassis
RC4WD R2 trans with Axial 20 turn
Axial AE2 esc
Traxxas 3 channel radio set up for winch
Axial axles, stock
RC4WD Double Trouble 2 wheels/Bogger tires
Custom bobbed and doved H1 body
And trying to build a tow boom lol
Track star 1/8 scale servo
Metal drive shafts

Ok, a little teaser! Im not sure on which rig these will go on but bought these wheels/tires cheap just to use the tires, just a few minutes on them and they weren't glued. The made to order beadlocks are on order.
I tested the tires on my deadbolt and deffently better than the treps for me! But..... I repeatedly popped the front tire beads off since they weren't glued.
Sooo, I decided t throw on the weighted DC's that come in on a roller I bought. Even though they are shorter, the extra weight deffently helped out and worked better than the treps.

I'm learning real quick that weight in the front wheels makes a noticeable difference. That H1 is badass.

It's been a long time project, I'm hoping to finish it up to be able to be a recovery/tow rig sometime next month.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see a video of it flexing out over some rocks and rough stuff. Finish that bad boy.

So done a little work on Rusty today. Wasn't getting full turning lock so I started adjusting and clearancing the links.
First started by bending the steering link and adding a small spacer so the toe angle is correct. Moved the drag link to the lower hole on the servo arm. This gave me most of my turning radius back!

Finally 4 linked Rusty today. Had all the parts just laying around so why not!
Worst thing though, the first gen scx10s had Phillip head screws!
