| Re: Integy cage build. I keep bouncing between buying a pre-made cage and hacking it up to get what I want or just building one from scratch. That looks like it would be easy to remove or fab-in whatever you need and the rock sliders are a nice addition.

A local machinist by the name of Josh Abraham offered these nicely done aluminum cases up for sale that he has been machining up.. This case allows the stock spur gear cover to be utilized in a mirrored configuration. Here did the good job machining and everything seems smooth and super strong and the weight balance of the total package is much better then the plastic case. I installed a Robison racing 90t and brass 22T pinion for super quiet operation. Also received in the mail a EPIC 27T stock 'rebuildable bushing motor after I had bearings freeze in my jeep at a g6 recently and almost cost me a dnf . Also... Upper link mounts are almost here and got link making materials . should have a roller soon. |

I like your concept it will be interesting to see where this is going. Any weight reduction plan? The cage looks like it might be heavy, what does it weigh? Any time you can lose some weight any where above the axle line it directly effects the rigs capabilities.

Be careful with that motor you got. Stock motors come with cans locked at 24* of timing so they generate heat quickly compared to most crawler motors that run 0-6* of timing. I guess that is to be expected when they were designed to be run for 5 minutes at a time in a 3 lb buggy.

Excellent point. Kinda forgot they run such high timing on stock motors. Gonna play with gearing and hope for the best. I'm currently running the same armature in a trinity dirtinator can and it's seem to be doing really well. Love the high top operating rpm on 3s . |
