Came out very nice, how did you attach the inner fenders? Double-sided tape or?

They're actually held in place by being pinched between the body post and the shock hoop. It was a pleasant surprise.

After some backyard practice sessions at my parent's house, we finally got the little blue Ford out on the trails for a multi-mile run. All was well until my 6 year old decided it was demolition derby time. Turns out the ScalerFab bumper on my G6 is the same height as the headlights on the Courier...

Oops. Looks like I'll be doing a little headlight repair. I was probably going to have to pop them out anyway, as the paint (Testors silver enamel) didn't adhere to the black Axial plastic very well. I'm going to flake the rest of it off and try another paint.

Speaking of paint not sticking, it looks like Rust-Oleum for plastic doesn't stick that well to Market Basket Cool Whip knock-off containers. I'll let that be for now. Eventually we'll repaint them.

Other than that, I'm happy to say the truck performed really well. I was worried about the battery in the back, but it didn't stop the little truck from getting over any obstacles on the trail. The Dirt Grabbers, while small and not of the stickiest compound, performed decently. Most importantly, My dad, my son and I had a really nice time together.

Try some Plasti dip spray on the inner fenders. Its more of a rubber type spray. Maybe it would hold up better.

Love the Courier. I want to build one with a S2K drive train

You should of Scotch Bright padded the CoolWhip containers that way the surface is scuffed and the Rust-oleum paint for plastic would stick better and maybe stiffen them up with shoe goo and the drywall lathe tape on the inside so they don't flex as much and crack and chip the paint, its worth a try

I've since repaired the headlights. Next time I get over to his house I'll take off the inner fenders and try scuffing them up first. Good call on the Shoe Goo. I have Plastidip I can try, too.

For various reasons beyond anyone's control, Sam the Little Blue Ford Courier hasn't been run all that much. I'm hoping to change that starting this spring. In preparation, I had my dad bring it by for a little routine maintenance. Nothing major. Just a quick going over and a couple of minor repairs.

First up: I sanded down and Plastidipped the inner wheel wells. It's holding up well on my XJ. I'm hoping for the same here.

Of course, since I had it here I figured I'd take it our for a little run. You know, let it stretch its legs and see what else might need tweaking. Research! Diagnostics! It certainly wasn't because Sam the Little Blue Ford Courier is fun to run. Nope. Couldn't be...

I was so nervous about screwing up this body I actually picked up multiple when I bought it. Some day I'm going to build one for myself. I'm thinking maybe on an Ascender chassis with narrowed axles. Someday...

Thanks!

On an unrelated note - Does anyone know of any springs that fit the stock Axial shocks that are softer than their red springs? This truck is really light. I'd like to have it settle a bit more.

Ha! That's great.

That's a sweet truck. If I end up building another that will pretty much be what I'd go for.

I delivered the li'l Ford back to my dad over the weekend. It got a good cleaning, some minor repairs and some lubrication. I thought about adding side mirrors and windshield wipers, but I think it would be wise to let him get a little more experience with the rig before attaching more breakable parts. I'd also like to rewire the BEC/lights to get a little more power to them, but that'll have to wait until next time. I did add some Gmade hubs.

Of course I had to take a few photos before bringing it back...
