Default wraith gearing in honcho question

I want to do something with the motor in my honcho. I though about brushless and after watching a couple videos of the wraith on 2s I was thinking about that gearing and motor. So my question is if I do something like the wraith motor and gearing am I going to still have the same torque as I have now or less? Will my battery life change? I get about a hour and 45min out of a 2s 5000.

What motor(s) specifically? Transmission and axle gearing in SCX10 (Honcho) and Wraith are the same, rollout due to larger diameter Wraith tires is only difference...they also come with the same Axial motor too. Same gearing, motor, battery, etc. then Honcho has more torque, but less speed at the wheels. Wraith would be less torque and more speed at the wheels. I found that about 2 - 3 tooth smaller pinion (32 pitch) on Wraith is about same effective gear ratio at the tires. As always keep an eye on motor/esc and battery temps.

The 20t axile wraith motor is what I am looking at. I am looking for a little more speed but still have the torque to crawl.

If you will get a Holmes Hobbies motor 13t 36.00 you will be happy Inmho.
If you watch Harley s videos on the deadbolt I think it's the 5 video he goes into lots of details

I watch the video thanks. So if I do this motor with the stock gearing am I going to get good torque and good wheel speed? About how fast does this motor go?

the 13t crawlmaster sport will be plenty of wheel speed and torque, I run this in 3 of my scx10 based rigs and it works great! the one caveat I will say is I run 3s in my scx10 rigs, hell 3s in everything I own

Well I run a 5th sensored in my associated stadium truck and it's fast. I'm guessing 50ish mph with 3s. How fast are you waiting to go 30?

Hell yeah, 3S in everything except things that run 4S.

I don't know. With a 2s 5000 stock gearing and that motor can I get 30.

No maybe 20ish and that's fast for a scale type truck they don't do to we'll at high speed. I run 13ts and 30t from. Holmes Hobbies and my son has hh 27t. In our blizzards we run 13t brushless in Mine and 55t Holmes Hobbies. Truthfully my sons 55t blizzard with 3s will keep up with my 13t brushless sensored set up. It all in how you gear it and the power supply.

OK thanks 20 sounds OK. I will look into that motor. Is the shaft the same size as the axial motor?

Thanks guys for your help. I forgot to look at my own and found a vintage AE associated 10t I think brush motor. I have more torque and a lot more wheel speed.
