| Alternative brushed motor suggestions
Are there any direct bolt on brushed motors that are equivalent in performance to the stock 27T motor? Mine is still going and working fine, just wondering if the stock motors are really good motors and suggest replacing with the same or are there some others out there that will be the same speed/torque as stock that are good replacements?? Thanks |

Most 27T motors will be similar in top end speed but higher quality motors will produce more torque due to being built with better materials. I like the Holmes TorqueMaster Expert series as a mid priced upgrade (about $45).

I've had really good luck with rc4wd brushed motors. I like the 35t for crawling, a little more power and a little less speed. They have been pretty reliable and I run them in very heavy rigs. And they are cheap!

This motor? Will running this motor be more prone to breaking drivetrain? Or just have more climbing power | |

I'm partial to Team Brood Racing motors. A well put together hand wound motor: Team Brood Racing :: Crawler Motors :: Handwound Motors :: Apocalypse A budget conscious machine wound: Team Brood Racing :: Crawler Motors :: Machine Wound Motors :: Intensity No matter what manufacturer you choose or turn you decide to go with, if you can budget the extra for a hand wound motor, it is worth it! Smoother power curves, much better low end resolution, and more overall power! |

If you just want a fairly cheap stock replacement, look at the Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster Sport. They are fairly cheap and offer better performance over the stock one.

You have not mentioned your driving conditions... If you run in muddy, wet conditions the stock motor may just be the ticket. If you are running in drier conditions the upgrade may be advantageous. |

My driving conditions varies from wet to dry. I also like to keep my stuff clean so I usually do a good hose down after a muddy run.

In water, the cheaper motors tend to give better long term value. They don't produce as much power, they don't have brush hoods to get clogged, and so they end up lasting longer than a rebuildable style motor in water and mud. It is the purpose for TrailMaster Sport motors. Folks wanted a "throw away" price motor for running in water. I just bumped up the quality where it counts so they have better performance than stock motors, without being too pricey. The jump to Expert motors makes a big difference in torque, power, and control. But it's a risk getting them into water. The wrong conditions can blow through a set of brushes in just a few battery packs. |

I used the titan 21 turn. Cheap enough and seemed to have close to the same wheel speed. It's a 550 can I believe but still works! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |

3s lipo, 35t motor, GREAT runtime. It provides really good speed where it's hard to keep your truck upright on turns. Plus, giving great torque for crawling. Lower turn motors will reduce runtime. But, even faster on 3s. Making it not so fun to drive. Because, your always wheeling and when you brake to hard the truck does a forward flip. Lol

2S on 35T motors is quite slow.
