Default Hilux honcho hybrid build

Aloha from the 808, this is my first R/C build thread so please bear with me lol. This build started out as a $400 Craig's list find coming RTR, it looked better in pictures and came with some cheap low grade electronics besides a HH motor. It was a complete cluster, I literally bought it drove it for a min then took it home and tore it down to the axles. I marine greased the axles I'm glad I did because they where pretty dry with only a little grease, I sanded and rusto painted the frame rails black along with the previous owners home made links. After spraying everything and buttoning everything back together I tackled the electronics, I'm gonna throw in a Futaba 3prka radio/reciver, keep the HH motor, XL5(for now), savox WP servo. Also gonna be upgrading to a CMS, stock scx10 shocks(I don't like the big boom racing shocks), new links(dingo WB) all around, 1.9 SSD wheels/1.9 TSL swampers, and add some scale accessories and lights. Now on to pictures.

This is how it came when I got it, pretty beat up but it had all metal gears and MIPs so at least the drivetrain is good.

this is how it sits now, doesn't look like much of a difference but trust me it's a lot cleaner and less cluttered.

there is still ALOT of changes it needs but for now it's good, should be ordering more parts soon and will keep updating every step of the way. I'll post more body shots tomorrow as well as with the body off. enjoy.

mahalos bro, feel free to post some pics of yours too I had to move the shock towers to the second closest hole to the front end of the truck , I then mounted the gear head shock mount which I really enjoy I am definitely buying them for my next scx10 builds. I also zip tied the rear cage to the frame, the cab and truggy bed are mounted independently. the cab was the hardest part on the scx10, for now I used some TF2 body mounts and shackles to lift it the roughly the same height as the truggy bed, I found a scx10 body mount made for the TF2 on ebay so I'm gonna order that and hopefully it'll fit right. here some pics:

Small Update: while watching some GCM scale garage on youtube tonight my OCD kicked in and I had to fix the bend from the gearhead shock mount on the rear truggy(you can see it in the above picture). I broke out the x-acto and snips and eye balled it so that the cuts wouldn't interfere with any bolts holding the truggy together. this was the out come.
