Default Cat's Unimog

After a few crawlers and a few go fast rigs I decided to tackle my first hardbody. Took me quite awhile to figure out what I wanted to do, was looking at RC4WD kits but nothing really said to me "lets to it!". I was then turned onto a ebay merchant who sells a variety of hardbodies, my friend bought a hemtt truck. It was beautifully done so I found a unimog sold by the same merchant.

Truth be told I wanted to do a progress build thread but now that I finally got around to posting... I have a lot done! There is alot of detailing I want to do as time goes on but what I have done so far is below.

Chassis:
Axial Deadbolt RTR
Gmade Steel Wheels
RC4WD Krypton Tires 1.9"
Hitec 7955TG w/Castle BEC 6.0V (will be replace with Holmes Hobbies servo when funds allow)
SSD Titanium Steering/Drag Links
Axial 35T Motor (27 was too fast for this build)

The 2 things I did different with the body was to remove the turret and also remove the stock turn signal/locations.

To Be Completed:
Install LED Lighting
Install functioning tailgate
Install Yellow Beacons
Build/install full interior with figure
Slowly upgrade chassis

Please post up suggestions/thoughts, for being my first hardbody I think I did okay with it. Improvements could be made to my workmanship, at the same time though this wont be a show rig!

Updates will be made along the way now

EDIT: looks like some of my pictures rotated, if someone know how to fix this please PM me. They show right side up when viewing on my desktop...)

UPDATE:

A little under two years and this truck has gone under many changes! My additions are below. This truck has become my pride and joy, its taken a lot of work and money but I love what it has become!

1. Savox 1230 Servo
2. Hackmoto 45T motor
3. Hobby Wing 1080 ESC
4. Castle BEC
5. Heyok Winch and Light Controller
6. SSD OX Free-spool winch
7. GCM from motor/CMS kit/transfer case
8. STRC Panhard kit
9. Boom Racing SCX10 full metal alloy axles with aluminum lockouts/knuckles/spindles
10. RC4WD king shocks
11. RC4WD 10 mode beacons
12. Lockeduprc OEV wide 1.9" wheels with command rings and hardware
13. Crawler innovations closed cell foams
14. RC4WD MT Baja Claws

I also did a lot of custom fabrication work. started with the aluminum bumper which allows the cab to tilt front for electronics access. I also made a custom rear bumper with mud flap mounts. The flatbed also hinges to allow for battery access. Also got around to making a basic interior. I added a AC unit to the roof, as well as the wooden tool box on the back of the truck for tools/recovery gear.
