Hmmmm so compared to the scx10v2 kit trans...the SSD has no more spur/pinion...motor is further forward....weight down low due to metal housing?...more streamlined design (no huge spur cover)...sideways (perpendicular to chassis) CMS.

With the scx10v2 trans...spur/pinion options...can mount a battery up front still...motor not nearly as far forward (battery weight can make up for this), 2spd option...lengthwise (parallel to chassis) CMS.

They both clean up a rig in my opinion. Eliminate a 3rd driveshaft for those running a t-case. And provide room for an interior.

Tough call...

Thanks Natedog. I think I'm going to end up with both anyways so I may be able to do a comparison haha. Well thats granted my kit eventually shows up and whenever this trans gets released.

Well it seems GCM is offering a overdrive left or right side drop option married transfer case

Already ordered via RPP, may have to get that t-case just for the overdrive option.

Also for clarification is this a right or left hand drop?

You should be able to work out what side the tcase is from the photo.
It's on the drivers side (US). Same as a 1:1 Jeep I believe...

Thanks for the quick reply. While that is true, I'm just used to terms of driver side or passenger side drop.

Looking forward to my preorder. Granted I wish I saw the GCM combo before preordering from RPP

Two different products really. This is an SCX10 direct drop in kit.

True, I do like that feature...but I also like the overdrive the GCM offers since scx10v2 axles do not have that option (yet?)...decisions decisions.

Scx10 II axles will have a overdrive option.

Then decision made/kept. Sticking with my RPP preorder to drop in trans for my scx10 chassis and alter the axle gears when available.

Look inside the tcase. There are 4 screws that attach it to the coupling between the trans and tcase.
