Top tier and light years better than Castle often at similar or better prices. They have ESCs and motors in both brushed and brushless and BECs which you have mentioned. Solar D772 servo. HobbyKing Great ESCs and motors both brushed and brushless. You just have to pick and choose. HobbyWing is still better. Great batteries - Turnigy and Zippy are my preferred brands. Turnigy TS4G - best stock budget radio in the business. I prefer it over the FlySky, but it's not hackable. BECs Servos Too many options to specify. LW-20 MG is all I can find right now, it just sacrifices a little torque for waterproofing. Ordered it at valuehobby - same place as link.

I have one on my SCX10 II, it's a beast. Throwing 7V at it from a Castle BEC. Good speed, GREAT power. I also have a non waterproof one on a 14lb 60mph E-Revo. It handles that NO SWEAT. Last edited by 1967Typhoon; 09-18-2016 at 08:10 PM. |

The Radiolink RC4G looks like the same radio, just repackaged. Is this true? Have you used radios like the Futaba 3PV (2x more than TS4G, but maybe a "budget" radio for Futaba)? Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a Spektrum DX4C and really like it, but I'd like to add a second controller ... Nice to hear you've had good luck with the Turnigy radios. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Thloftus; 09-18-2016 at 11:42 PM.

Just put the PowerHD in my II - works like a charm. Gobs of torque, good speed, waterproof, all for $20.

I opened up my waterproof PowerHD servo and realized their definition of waterproof is a couple of o-rings. Gave the board a dose of conformal coating while it was open so now I'm a little more confident in its ability to deal with water. It is still a very good servo but I would call it water resistant out of the box.

Just ran the Hobbywing Quicrun wp1060 brushed ESC. It replaced a Castle Creations Sidewinder 3. They seem to run equally well, but the brake on the HW works much better. Also, consider it verified as waterproof.

I read somewhere on this forum that someone was using a traxxas 550 motor. Anyone tried this?

Funny how I just found this thread. I just bought a scx10.2 and ordered the hw 1060, and the power HD servo, just from other research I've done. I also have the Traxxas shocks. I bought an 8 pack a while ago for my stampede and so I have 4 left but not sure how scale they look. I'm also going to try the traxxas 550 since I have those laying around. (I don't have my truck yet). I have already order all these budget items. They should all be here by Monday. my radio I'm using my old dx2e but would like to get a new as well. I like that the turnigy is 4 channel. Would you guys recommend that over the skyfly? Last edited by nosser; 11-15-2016 at 07:46 AM. |
