| Scx 10 Honcho
hey guys looking for a little infomation as ive never upgraded engine parts etc, I have the scx 10 honcho being that i can replace it body with a replica of my real life 4x4. while i enjoy the rock crawling alot i wouldnt mind being able to make it go faster. Nothing outragious just looking for alittle bit more. Just hoping to get maybe a parts list and what needs to be upraded to get more speed out of my honcho. For anybody that wondering i got and 80 series landcruiser hardbody shell for it. Custom Paint matched tyres are even almost the same. |

Years ago mine came with a 27 turn motor. Go to a 20t or get a pinion gear with a few less teeth on it. Lower turn count is more speed and less torque. High turn count is leas speed and more tq. |

Yeah i have been reading that people have been putting the wraith 20t motor in it which seems to improve speed by around double, so i might look into that in a while once i run around with it abit more.

They can be sourced for fairly cheap. Dollarhobbyz often has them as well the brushed 540 RC4WD motors for a fair price, too. Their shipping speed is one of the best. If it has the 48 pitch gears like mine does, swing by your local hobby shop and see if they have a Robinson Racing 6 pack of gears. Then you can play with gearing some to see how just a few teeth either way changes speed. Be sure to get an SAE Allen wrench to fit them. RR is one of the only still using SAE. |

AX2 2 Speed Transmission for Axial Wraith & SCX10/Honcho I had one installed In a honcho awhile back and I was surprised how fast it was in high gear. It was also very low speed in 1st gear and it still crawled very well. The tranny is very easy to install in a honcho. You just need a shift servo and 3 channel tx and rx and your ready. OR You could always go brushless! Good luck in your search for more speed. | |
