Bumper Proline Cherokee

I think that my front bumper is too big and always seems to hit the obstacles first which stops the front wheels from climbing up and over it.

My previous experience in crawling is from my Wraith and on that truck I do not have this problem.

Is it the correct front bumper that I have for the Jeep Proline body or is there a smaller one available (that is still scale looking)

Thanks

Cut the bumpers off the body, that will allow you to set the axial bumpers back further.

Thanks, that is of course one option but not the one I prefer.

I have tried to find smaller plastic bumpers that would fit the Jeep body but I can`t find any.

I personally, have not seen a 1:1 cherokee on the trails or otherwise, with two front bumpers

Bumper Proline Cherokee

Cut of the front bumper from the body last night and was able to move in the front bumper two notches. However, as you can see in the pictures I still have some problem getting the body inside the rear bumper. Even if I cut off the bumper on the body in the back it will still not line up properly with the bumper on the chassie.

I would need to move the rear bumper out a notch or two but it is already on the last notch so I can`t move it out any more.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yeah it is great.. I can drive right up a wall. well till the rear tire hit the wall..these are made for as much clearance as possible.....

You need to cut the red portions out and lower the body till it's almost touching the bumpers:

Here is the front of one of my 1:1s. You'll note the factory bumper is totally gone so the aftermarket one fits.

Here's the back, same XJ after a lift, and JCR rear bumper in progress of installation. Not only is the factory bumper gone, but so is part of the rear quarter panels after what is called the "Cut N Fold".

Hope this clears up how to get your bumpers mounted right, the same way the 1:1s are done.

Thanks for the replies. I cut the bumpers off the body so now it sits much better.
