Default Cory's 1969 Bronco

My buddy owned a 1969 Ford Bronco 20 some years ago.

This build will be the truck it could have been.

His Og had 35" tires, and built 302.

HW quickrun 1080.
Power hd 20kg wp
Stock scx axles
Stock trans, 32p gears.
Aluminum frame rails, with stock skid and braces.
Revo rod ends.
Shocks undecided, Probably something I have in my parts bins.
Bumpers ect, tbd.

Frame rails cut from 1/8" thick aluminum, 18" long, 2" from top to bottom.

I see that skid on Thingiverse, I'll probably have to steal it because it looks nicely made.

Yeah thats the skid, It is a very nice piece. The rear high clearance cross member is also fantastic. I didn't try them on my scx10 frame rails, to see if everything lined up, but for custom builds they are great.

I made a wheelbase jig this morning, currently sitting at 12 inches. And the shock towers are printing now.

The shock towers are printed. I will be picking them up tomorrow.

Got the links mocked in...

And the body mocked on. The wheelbase is about 1/4"-3/8" long.

Looking at the skid that came off your friend's printer I would say it is under extruding and that skid may have some weak spots because of it. The top layer looks like there are holes in it.

Thank you for your concern.

The skid looks fine to me, there are no holes from what I can tell, and the finish is like glass.

I will report on breakage though....

Cory came over today and we made a ton of progress. He brought over a Rc screws Scx10 kit, a Quickrun 1080 esc and a 20 kg wp servo. Also a printed cms, and shock towers. We got everything mounted up, and the lower links sleaved with stainless tube. Oh and his tires and wheels...

Thanks, I am impressed with them. Nice and soft compound, though the foams seem a bit soft. I think we will be fine.

I have a set and I put the tall Crawler Innovations single stage foam in them a few days ago. Firmed them up and flattened them out across the tread some.

Got the body mounted, and paint tomorrow...

The body pivots on the rear, body clips on the front to hold it down.

More body trimming tomorrow, got to clear these huge tires.

I delivered the Bronco to Cory last week. We had a short trail run on our "test course" about two blocks from his house, About a 1/2 mile loop of pretty easy trail...

Today we hit Big Creek Trail. We went into the bridge, about 1 1/2 miles in and back out. I had some issues with my F150 about 15 ft into the trail, so I swapped to my wifes Yota... Always a good idea to bring a second rig. We had so much fun I forgot to take pictures...

We hit the trails again today, this time we brought a gps, and drove just under 4 miles up and back Kootenie creek trail.

Rock faces are steeper than they appear.
