| I want to 3D Print a chassis
I'd like to 3d print a ladder style chassis, but I am having a hard time finding a drawing with the dimensions and spacing of the holes for the skid and links.

I’d say the best this to do is 3D scan the chassis and go from there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There are a number of free cad programs you could use to it up. What type of printer do you use? Maybe we could do it has a team effort. I'm just starting to try and Autocad by Autodesk. There's Tnkercad that is a free web based that is good for basics stuff. i fee for basic things. Upload a pic or drawing close to what you want, maybe it could be one of my lessons to make a frame.

I have a Creality CR-10, I am using Fusion 360. The problem is that I don't have a stock chassis to take measurements from. I printed one side of this chassis, but the holes are all 2mm and its in 6 pieces. I want it in one piece. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:569320 Last edited by viper7016; 10-05-2017 at 07:57 AM. |

Do you have all the skidplates, shock towers, etc. that you plan to use with the chassis? If so I'd say just base it off of those, and to set the distance between them just do whatever works best with the body you're planning on running. Custom links aren't that hard to make, so I wouldn't worry about making sure your stuff lines up with existing link sets.

I am building a scx10 for my buddy, using 2" aluminum flat bar, and 3d printed cross members, and skid. You can see what I have done at Corys 1969 Bronco, here in the scx10 section. It might be a good solution for you. |

I will be printing the skids and crossmembers. After working for several hours today I have managed to create a body from a PDF I found online and have begun to modify it. |
