I run 3s on the stock Electronics and am starting to smell the motor burning up. I'm wondering what motor I should re place it with and if I should even run 3s on a brushed set up. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |

3s absolutely! Holmes Hobbies torque master motor..27t to 35t would be good.... what are you geared at? (spur and pinion tooth count)

I run stock dead bolt gearing. Are the homes Hobbies Motors waterproof? I don't want to spend $60 on a motor I can't get wet. Could I run it with my stock ESC? The temperature of the motor is the correct way to tell if you're running it too hard or gearing it wrong right? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |

Yes you can run hh brushed motors in water, with the stock ESC... I try to keep my ratio between 5:1 and 6:1. Not sure what your stock gearing is but you can find out easily enough and you may need to drop the pinion gear a tooth or two..as long as your motor doesnt get hot you should be fine but I bet your gearing is a touch tall if the motor is smelling burnt..

If you get in water, choose the Trailmaster series. About the same cost as stock but much better magnets and driving feel.

3s is just fine with all of my motors. The more expensive "expert" motors are higher quality, more efficient,, higher torque. Better magnets, brushes, laminations, everything. Also rebuildable. But not my first choice for water or mud. |
