Thumbs up Dead RAM build

Figured I'd start a build thread for this 1:6 scale New Bright Dodge Ram based off my Axial deadbolt. Should be an interesting thread when all is said and done.

The most important part I want to note is that I WILL NOT be making a custom frame. I'll be using links and longer shocks (AX10 Scorpion) to get the wheel base right. It should be a good thread or anyone who wants a bigger RC without having to make a frame and all that noise.

Axles -
Front 200k oil/Rear 500k oil/Team Associated oil
Front - SSD RC aluminum diamond axle ordered
https://www.amainhobbies.com/ssd-rc-...d00112/p505921
Rear - stock axle with underdrive (AX30402), will be ordering SSD RC aluminum diamond Axle
https://www.amainhobbies.com/ssd-rc-...d00069/p498752

Trans - stock with Vader products monkey skid which moves the engine forward. May have to return to stock skid to help with wheelbase.

Steering - SSD CMS ordered - will probably need some modification to work with the 14.5in wheelbase
https://www.amainhobbies.com/ssd-rc-...d00026/p498712

Suspension - All aluminum links. will be using 106mm along with smaller threaded and non-thread link spacers to get the wheel base correct.

Shocks - Stock AX10 Scorpion with softer springs rear and stiffer front if I remember correctly. I think they are 100mm shocks.

Wheel and tires - 2.2 RC4WD ROKLOX (5.55x1.69) with axial beadlocks which will be replaced with these brodozer wheels

Body - 1:6 scale New Bright Dodge Ram "Mud Slinger"

Bumpers - Need a front winch bumper, sliders and wheel wells, rear will stay stock.

Motor is a 35t for now. Might go brushless towards the end of the build.

Pictures of it as a deadbolt for memories...

Let me know what you guys think. Tips and pointers are greatly appreciated!

Lightbulb Re: Dead RAM build

Finally got it together and running. 15 inch wheel base on Wraith Axles. Rear stock AX10 shocks, front 118mm Integy Alum shocks.

Looks pretty janky under the body, but everything works great haha

Had a problem with the front drive shaft rubbing on the upper link, but I had some bent links laying around so I threw those on.

Rear suspension

Front suspension

I got the stock Deadbolt sliders to work, just needed to buy these metal things to extend them out. I'm sure there is a better option out there, just haven't looked that hard.

Mounted the rear with the stock body mounts. The tool box in the bed hides the clips

Mounted the front with the stock new bright body mounts using a gaggle of parts haha works well though

Front with RC4WD 12mm wheel widners. Look good and works as they should, but I didn't want to use widners.

Front with AR60s

Rear with AR60s

First test run with a 35t. Thinking of going brushless, but I'm not 100% yet

Taking out the trash haha

Looking good man!! Just got my AR60's on! We did some similar things to make it work haha. I went with 14.5" wheelbase for now. May tweak later.

& What size TSL's did you go with?

Love the taking out the trash pic btw haha.

Damn dude that truck is turning out real Nice! I only did 15in cause that matched the bodies wheelbase. I ended up going with 2.2 proline hyrax with 6.0 crawler innovation foams. Soft front/medium rear. Also changed the shocks to 118mm front/120mm rear. Seems to work good just needs more weight
